Drug Store Deals of the Week 12/14-12/20

It's that time, again, where I scout out the best drug store makeup deals of the week. Also, make sure to check out my last week's Drug of the week (link here) because there are still many AMAZING products at CVS that are 50% and 75% off. Now, let's get onto the DEALS.

CVS:

There isn't much from CVS this week, but here are three.
  • Buy one get 50% off for ALL NYX COSMETICS!!! I'm actually really excited for this deal. NYX has a very affordable line already. My favorite product is the Soft Matte Lips because when it sets on your lips, it doesn't transfer onto anywhere.
  • MUA (Make up Academy) is have a 25% off. Plus if you spend $40, you'll get $10 in extra bucks. Well, I do not know too much about this company. But you do know, let me know what I should try.
  • Physicians Formula is having a 40% off for everything.
Extra bucks are like coupons, which can be used toward anything at CVS.

Rite Aid

This week, Rite Aid has the best deals. That's why I'm saving these for last.
  • Covergirl is having a 25% off everything in their cosmetics department. When you spend $10 and up, you'll get $2 back in Up rewards. My favorite waterproof mascara is from Covergirl.
  • 40% off for all Wet-n-Wild Cosmetics. Spend $10 and get an extra $3 of Up Rewards. GREAT DEAL. Everything from Wet-N-Wild is already really inexpensive. If you are a procrastinator and don't have anything to get for your friends for Christmas, you can get them like 3-4 items and spend about $10-$15 for each friend. This will depend what you buy.
  • Spend $10 on any Artificial Nails and Lashes, you'll receive $3 in Up rewards.
  • Last by not least, Physicians Formula is having a BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!!!! However, this is for ONLY for their concealers and glamour eye products. But still, it's a pretty good deal that you are looking at.
Up rewards are like money, They can be used towards anything at Rite Aid.

That's all for now. Happy Holidays.
Make up to check out my youtube channel @shesayswhoosh. I just started making videos. It's a bit tough with the editing and filming but I know I will continue to get better.

My "No Makeup Makeup" Look

Hello Loves!

How's it going? My work as been cancelled so many times this week because it's raining SO much in the Bay Area. Currently, there is a massive storm going on. 1/4 of my house is out of power. With all my time in the world, I decided to make another video on YouTube. This time, I spent more time editing, filming, and learning the Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 program. It was difficult as first but I'm continuing to excel on my skills. In time, I know I'll be "close" to pro (in my dreams).

In college, I've used imovie from apple, however, I don't have an apple computer anymore. So I'm fortunate to use this program, which my brother gave because the editing functions are endless, yet a bit difficult.

Here's my next video. I spent more time editing and learning through YouTube. Isn't it funny how we live in an age where we can learn about EVERYTHING (well, almost everything) through YOUTUBE? For example, I just learned how to switch on fuses to my house because of YouTube. I could get a YouTube University Bachelor of Arts or Science. I kid. But seriously though.

Here you go!

That's all for now! Enjoy!

Drug Store Deals of the Week

It's that time of the week again, where drug stores come out with their sales of the week and I tell you the BEST of the BEST Deals. Let's get to the chase.

CVS:

  • Relvon is having a 40% off sale for all of its cosmetics. This is a great opportunity to try out their lip line, especially from their Colorburst lip collection. Also, use your CVS card to see if you get a $4 off $10 Relvon cosmetics or Relvon Beauty Tools coupon at the red coupon machine. You'll save even more.
  • Buy one get 50% off for Milani cosmetics. Usually this company hardly has sales, so this is a good chance to get some of their good liquid eye liners. I've never tried anything of their products. Maybe if I score a good deal, I'll give it a try.
  • During this time of year, CVS tries to clear out their products by having a 50% off and 75% off on selective items. Here are some pictures. The pink sticker is 50% off from original price and the green sticker is 75% off.
Almay's concealers

Relvon's Lip Glosses for 50% off. Plus use the CVS coupon from the Red Coupon Machine.

Relvon's Eye shadows

L'oreal's infallible lip products are really intense. 50% off. yay!

Physicans Formula's mascara for 75% off! Original price $9.99

Some of the Nicole's OPI polishes on sale.

Sally Hansen's Nail Polishes from the line Triple Shine is 75% off. What a good sale.

And I bought:
Including tax, I spent $20.66. If I had coupons, my savings would be higher.
I like to mention that these are a good Christmas presents for friends.

Rite Aid

  • NYC cosmetics is having a 50% off sale for everything in their line. I believe this sale will end "while supply last".

That's all for now.

November Favorites 2014

Alright, November Favorites! But first, oh my goodness, it's already December? Seriously, why does it feel like time is passing by faster and faster each year. I hope everyone had a GREAT Thanksgiving and hope everyone enjoyed all the crazy Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

Okay! Let's start from left to right

Bare Escentuals Buxom Full on Lipstick Rouge A Levres: This is in the color "San Francisco"

I remember I bought this in the beginning of the year. I left this in my makeup storage, but I recently rediscovered it. I love this lipstick because it's very pigmented, it suits my skin tone, and it's sort of have a matte finish. There is a minty feeling to make your lips feel plumed to make it look fuller and bigger.

Maybelline's Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation: I bought this a week ago from the Rite Aid's 40% off Maybelline Sale and it's already my favorite! I remember using Revlon's Color Stay many years ago because a lot of YouTubers really liked it. However, it felt powdery and overly cakey to me. This one, on the other hands, I love how it is so soft and smooth. The finish is beautiful.  It's a medium to full coverage (in my opinion) founation. I'm in the 85 Sun Beige. Plus, it has SPF 20! I was really happy when I got it for $2.50.

Lancome's Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover: This is an oldie but always a goody. I've been using this for 4 years now. Because I have stubborn "straight-down-eyelashes", waterproof mascara is a HUGE must for me. This makeup remover literally melts off all the products on my lashes.

Fresh's Seaberry Moisturizing Oil: During winter, my skin tends to get dry. This oil was able to help me with all the dry patches on my nose. At first, I didn't like the "natural" smell but I grew to like it.

Maybelline's Dream Wonder Powder: This is in the color 85 Sun Beige also. I've seen many makeup YouTubers use this product but I didn't get the chance to purchase this product until it was on sale plus I had a $2 off coupon. It costed about $4.50. I like how there is a matte, soft, and smooth finish. It helps with my combination skin, especially when I'm oily in my T-zone.

I hope you enjoyed my 2014 November Favorites. Tell me what was your favorite products last month.

That's all for now!

Thanksgiving lunch

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving yesterday. If you're not from the US, I still hope you had a great day.

I just wanted to share what I had for thanksgiving. This years, my parents went on vacation early but my siblings were here with me. Instead of turkey, we decided to have something different and fancy. FILET MIGNON (steak), no carbs (well. maybe some croutons), and mainly organic produces.

I was able to celebrate Thanksgiving with my two siblings and two great friends.

Always need a salad for an appetizer. So simple, yet very delicious. My brother made a home-made raspberry vignette dressing.

My brother made some type of maple egg yoke appetizer inspired by his Iron Chef friend. The one of the right is cauliflower rice (which I made). So good, so easy to make, and definitely really healthy. It sort of looks like mashed potatoes.

Baked wrapped bacon with scallop. YUMMEERZZ

And finally, the filet mignon! Medium rare. It was so moist and easy to eat. Definitely not cheap, but worth eating with wonderful company.

Just looking at these pictures make me REALLY hungry.

After a very nice meal, we all went out shopping for the CRAZY Black Friday sales. I'll haul about it later.

That's all for now!

The Nudes by Maybelline Review

The Nudes by Maybelline's palette has been out for a few months but I didn't get my hands on it until there was a 40% off sale at Rite Aid a few weeks ago (link here for my haul with the Nudes palette) where I got this palette for $6.59. The original price is $10.99 at Rite Aid. Keep in mind that every drug store might have a different price. I'm going to tell you my 100% honest opinion.

In this Nudes' Palette, there are 3 metallic, 5 mattes, and 4 slimmers eye shadows. As you can tell, there are a lot of neutral colors here. The amount of looks you can create are endless (although on the maybelline's site, claims that this palette can create 13 looks in palette).

The eye shadows do not have a name. However, they are all numbers.

Eye shadows

First off, I believe this is a great palette for those who are starting out with makeup. However, if you are going to compare the quality and pigmentation to Urban Decay's Naked Palettes, your hopes will not be so satisfied.

                                                 Without an eye shadow primer

Using Urban Decay's Primer Potion.

With the primer, there is VERY little difference with the pigmentation, but I do recommend using a primer so eye shadows can last longer and it's more beneficial for those who have oily eye lids.

My favorite shadows are #4 (first row fourth shadows) and #10 (second row fourth shadow) because, even without a primer, their colors really show through. Using my fingers to swatch the shadows, these are just so smooth and softest.

My less favorite shadows are #9 (second row third color) and #12 (the every last color in row 2). I'm comparing the gold eye shadow to UD's half baked , which is my favorite color. #9 is disappointing because it doesn't have the most opaque quality that I am looking for. And #12 is just not dark for a black shadow. It's disappointing.

The eye shadows are definitely easy to use. Some of them are smoother than others. And some of them aren't opaque enough.

For my skin tone, the lighter colors are a little difficult to show up on my skin unless I use a white base.

Packaging

As for the packaging, the 12 eye shadows are in a small plastic case and it has one cheap plastic applicator (which I will throw away). It makes sense why drug store brands use plastic cases because of the price they are selling it at. One thing I really like is that it is travel friendly because it doesn't take up much space.

Final thoughts

I give this palette a 3/5 because of the price ($6.59 when on sale), the amount of eye shadows you get, and how compact it is.

That's all for now. Let me know what you think.

Haul #3

Happy Sunday everyone!! I have another haul for you guys. As for a disclaimer, I'm not here to brag and show off what I got. I'm here to help you find and score great deals.

First off the Fresh's Skin Care Idol: I got this at Sephora during the VIB sale. Unfortunately, while searching the link, I discovered Sephora no longer carries this gift set. I found it really strange. I just received this set in the mail 3 days ago. But, Sephora still sells every product individually.

False lashes: I got this pair of falsies at Daiso for $1.50. For those who don't know what a Daiso is (link here)  , it's a Japanese $1.50 store. You can basically find things ranging from garlic crushers to holiday decorations to iphone cases to cute pens. It's a AWESOME store. Just remember, if you do go, every store will carry different items.

Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes: Walgreens' had the best deal for these last week. It was buy one for $3.99 and get one free. Sometimes, I get lazy washing off all my makeup, so this is my fastest solution to get things off.

Wet'n'wild Petal Pusher Palette: Last week at Walgreens, some selected Wet'n'wild products were on sale for 30% off and some were 25% off. I blogged about this product earlier. I'm in love with this palette. For a $3.70, not too shabby. Here is the link for that blog post. Make sure to check out the clearance sales at your drug stores.
This week (11/16-11/22), Walgreens is having a 25% off for all Wet'n'wild products. This is a great time to try their VERY inexpensive products. Make sure to use coupons to get an even better deal.

That's all for now!
Enjoy

Drug Store Semi-annual Sales

End of the year is approaching fast. During this time of year, most of the Drug stores have semi-clearance sales. If you always wanted to try make up from different companies, now is the time.
I love to look for good deals to spend my buck.

Here are three pictures I took at Walgreens:

Some of the nail polishes from L'Oreal are on sale for $ 3.19. I love those colors.

 Selected Rimmel Foundations on SALE

Here is a bigger selection of Relvon's nail polishes for $4.29 and $3.19

At Walgreens, the orange tags indicate the products are on sales (as you can see). Plus, if you have coupons corresponding to the company, it will be even more of a discount. Every Walgreens might have different products on sale.

There were much more on clearance, but I didn't want to risk getting in trouble for taking pictures.

By the way Wet-N-Wild is on sale this week at Walgreens. Selected products are 30% off and some for 25% off. I bought a palette for $3. 70.  Originally costed $5.29.

I'm happy with it so far. 8 eye shadows for less than 50 cents. Not to shabby. I always wanted to try Wet-N-Wild eye shadows because I hear amazing things. Liking it so far.

That's it for now.

Small Haul #2

Hey Loves! How's your week so far?

Over the last past week, I bought some things.

First off, the Pink's Rose Lace Push-Up Bralette in a light blue color is so pretty. I LOVE this bra at the moment! It's one of the most comfortable bras that I own due to the comfort. At first, I didn't want to buy it but one of my favorite youtubers' (GlamLifeGure, Tati) convinced me when I was watching her haul. Original Price 28.95 but I bought it for $20.66 (tax included) with a $10 coupon.

Maybelline's Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner: This is a staple for me because I find it very easy to use. Although it's not waterproof and not the darkest black liquid eyeliner, it get the job done. I got it for $5.09 with 40% off sale at Rite Aid. Cheaper than Amazon!

I've been eyeing on The Nudes from Maybelline ever since it came out. I got the courage to buy it when it was 40% off at Rite Aid.  I was so happy when I bought it for $6.59. The original price was $10.99. I'll review it soon.

Last but not least, the Cover FX's Natural Finish Oil-Free Foundation in the Color N 70. So far, I tried it once. I really like it. Maybe there might be a review in the future. Retail price is $40, but I got it $32 with 20% off Employee discount sale. I know its pricy but I stand by a rule that many makeup artist say, "if you want to splurge on a makeup, it should be foundation."

That's all for now. Check out my Instagram @itssuzypic

October Favorites 2014

Oh my goodness! It's already November. 2015 is approaching fast. Ahh.. But you know what, it's going to be a great  new year for everyone when we stay positive and work hard at all times.

I'm super excited because this will be my first Favorites of the month.

Starting from left to right.

Fresh's Soy Face Cleanser: This cleanser is by far my favorite at the moment. I love how it is sulfate, phthalates, and parabens free. Sometimes, I like to use products that don't have harsh chemicals.
Although it is made out of soy, it smells like cucumbers. It has this fresh scent (funny, company is called Fresh). The formula is really gentle and smooth on my skin.

My boyfriend took this cleanser away from me because he really likes it too. In the current picture, this is my second tube. I already have a back up laying in my room.

Vaseline's Lip Therapy: This works wonders for me. After my post-surgery from removing my wisdom teeth, my lips became so dry and chappy. Every lip balm and chap stick that I own did not work, until I found this. Literally after using it for three times, my lips felt moist again. It also works on dry skin, especially the weather is getting colder. I used this on my nose because I had dry patches. It works too.

The packaging is SO CUTE. I love how it's super simple and unique. It's only $1.77!

Beaute de Royal's Snail Mask: During the month of October, I used this mask twice. It's amazing! I LOVE the how the mask is a gel and not tissue paper. When I put it on, I felt like nothing was there and it's a bit transparent so you don't have that "white looking scary mask" look (especially with tissue paper masks). It's very hydrating and whitens my face too.

A Snail Mask sounds weird because it's made from an insect's extract. But what I've heard, snail extract products are becoming more popular in Asia, especially in Thailand and South Korea.

Aveeno's Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo: Last but not least, this is my favorite Dry Shampoo at the moment. I've tried Pantene's Dry Shampoo, but I don't like the alcohol smell. What I love about Aveeno's Dry Shampoo is that it gets the job done. I spray it around the oily parts and it sucks up most of the geese from my hair. Plus it smells SO GOOD, it makes my hair feel clean, and it doesn't have that white powdery texture after you brush your hair. One more thing, I love the fact how it's sulfate free.

Well, that's all for today. I hope you enjoyed my first favorites blog.

Last Minute Halloween Ideas

So, Halloween is TOMORROW!!! Are you going to dress up?  Lately, I'm a been HUGE procrastinator. While cleaning out my closet, I thought what can I dress up as if I don't want to spend any money on a costume, especially Halloween is TOMORROW. I came up with three looks.

Who said you can't be Mrs.Claus for Halloween? It's super easy. All you need is the Santa Claus hat, a red dress, and a red lipstick or lip gloss to make it super festive. It's totally optional if you want put makeup on. Do I look festive?

On my eyelids, I have Brazilian Bronze from Smashbox. For the crease, I lightly blended it out with Buck from Urban Decay. I used Virgin from Urban Decay's Nake Palette to highlight my inner tear ducts. For the lips, I used two product to make it super opaque red. First I applied 240 Striking Spectaculaire from Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm for a base then I applied Sunrise from NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss from a glossy look. On my cheeks, I used Physician's Formula's Happy Booster Blush (don't have the color name).

Look #2. You can easily be a school girl for Halloween. I typically don't go for scary looks because I'm not into the scary things. You can be ANYTHING for Halloween. Be creative. Utilize everything that you have.

I used the same makeup look from Mrs. Claus' look, but I wiped off the red lips and put Kiko's lipstick (Color 803). It is a very steer pink, which makes me look very innocent. It's just so amazing how you can change a look so easily by just changing the color of your lips.

Here is the complete outfit for the school girl look. High socks, a long skirt, a collar shirt, and a tie. I found these items from my closet and I borrowed my brother's tie.

And if you want to be a nerd for Halloween, just add on a pair of glasses onto the school girl look. I got these glasses from a 3D movie.

Well, these are the Halloween looks that I came up with. Seriously, you don't have to go out and spend lots of money on a costume, unless you really want to. Just be creative!

Have a safe and Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween Look #1

Halloween is around the corner. For those of you who don't want to spend any money on a costume, you can try to recreate this look using the makeup that you already have. That is definitely what I did.

Simply, you can use any eye shadow for your eyes. But of course, use a black eye liner for the whiskers, the nose, and the upper lips for a precise application.

On my eyes, I cut the crease to give it some depth. The shadows I used are from my Nake Palette from Urban Decay.

For my lips, I used a vampy colors from Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil called Toundra.

On my face, I used Inglot's Foundation in the color MW 102. I contoured my cheek bones with Nars' Laguna.

For the brows, I used Wet N Wild's eyebrow pencil (Dark Brown) to frame my face.

All the products that I used, you don't have to use the same ones. Used anything that you have at home to recreate it.

Let me know how it goes. I'll create some more later. It's getting late. Time to ZzzzZZzz for me. Night night.

Remember, always be you.

Europe Trip Pictures Part 2

OMG! It's one of those Mondays where you wake up and feel ew. Today isn't the best day for me because I don't feel physically the best. My 6-day-post-wisdom-teeth-removal-surgery still makes my jaw hurt. I'm able to talk but I've developed a lisp. It's a bit strange but let's see I do in a feel days. My healing process is slow, but progress is improving.

And let's talk about the weather in NorCal. I am a type of gal who LOVES the sun because of all the beautiful colors that reflex from the nature. But today, the weather was so gloomy and dark. Sigh..

Enough complaining and onto the pictures that I've promised. Sadly, this will be the last entry about my Europe Trip pictures. I know! So sad. But I will continue to post other things.

Well here you go

There was at Park Guell in Barcelona. Like my attempt in modeling. Disclaimer: I'm just a normal girl

I'm trying to be dramatic. Another Picture from Barcelona.

Pastries from France. SERIOUSLY!!! TRY THEM ALL IF THEY ARE FANCY LOOKING.

The inside of St Peter's Basilica in Rome, Italy. This is one of the places that you should go before you die. Seriously, it's so beautiful inside.

Can you tell this is chocolate? It looks so real. This chocolate store is from Venice, Italy.

Of course, the view of Arc De Triomphe. Paris, France.

Okay, loves. That's all for today.

Remember, always be yourself.

What's on my nails #1

Hi Loves!!!

TGIF! I hope everyone has some exciting plans planned for the weekend. I'll be home studying for my GRE, boring as it sounds. I'm still in a lot of pain from my wisdom teeth surgery but the healing progress is going well. Did I mention that I got 3 pulled and one crushed? Oh my goodness, just thinking about makes me re-live the moment when I first got them pulled out. For the last three days, I've been so drugged up from my medication. At the moment, I refuse to take my drugs unless I am about go to sleep. It sounds so wrong, but that's the only way I can sleep peacefully.

Anyways, what is on my nails? I'm currently wearing Kiko's Quick Dry. The color is not listed on the nail polish. Or maybe is the color 23? Not sure. Doesn't help much but it is a beautiful color for all year long. It's a metallic rose with a hint of gold specs. BEAUTIFUL! Surprisingly, this color was chosen by my boyfriend. Good taste honey :)

A lot of the times, I get SUPER lazy doing my nails because I get super impatient waiting for my nails to dry. I know we all have the problem. I'm with you, girlfriend.

This is my first trying a quick dry and I think from now on, I'll get quick dry. Makes my life much easier. Waited for 60 seconds and my nailed were finally dry. It's not the most opaque polish out there but with 3 coats, I am good to go. 5 minute mani!!

By the way, I got this nail polish from Italy when I was on vacay. Kiko cosmetics is sold in the United States but I believe only in New York and Florida. I recommend trying some of their products when you are in Europe. VERY inexpensive. I got this nail polish for 2.90 Euros. It's about $4. Not too shabby.

Well, enjoy your weekend!

Remember, always be yourself.

P.S: more pictures from Europe will be uploaded soon. Stay tuned

Europe Trip Pictures Continues: Paris and more

Hey loves!

What's up? How is your Monday so far? I'm stuck at home at the moment. Currently, I don't have a job since the summer has ended. And if I did have a full time job, I would not have gotten the chance to travel for 4.5 weeks.

I'm also getting all my wisdom teeth pull tomorrow. With all these emotions in me, I'm really scared and petrified with the outcome. Wish me luck.

As I have promised, I have more pictures for you loves. Actually, 800 something pictures, but I'm sure that you'll get tired of them. You'll scroll all the way down and be like "cool, whatever" haha. That's why I'm posting some at a time. Hehe

Ready for them?

Of course. Self explanatory. The Eiffel Tower. I was trying to be artsy with this picture. Like it?
Going to the top of the tower was a scary experience for me.
Heights are not my thingy thing. I felt the tower was moving back and forth. But I must say
it was a breath taking view up there. AMAZING!

Can you guess where? This is much harder. Of course, Barcelona, Spain. You got it.
The view was so beautiful. I literally did not want to leave this spot.
My friends and I walked to the top of the hill. And luckily, it was not raining that day.
Two days later, it was POURING cats and dogs. I was soaked.

Churros are known in Spain. Instead of a sugar coating, they use hot chocolate.
Tastes great.

Pastries!!! I came across a cute little pastry shop in Paris. I only got macaroons. So delicious.
Why don't we have pastries this colorful? Makes me want to nom nom nom!!

I don't know what I was doing but I almost nailed it? eh.

You might wonder what I have a bridge. I just found it so beautiful to look at .
Yes, I am weird. This is in Porto, Portugal. Cars don't travel on the top of the bridge but they do on the down.
People walk on the top and public transportation is being used.

Another master piece from the architect Gaudi. If you look closely,
his designs are very unique and beautiful in every way.

That's all for today. I will promise to post more later again. Like I said, I do have 800 something
pictures on my computer. Enjoy.
